Finest Playa Mujeres
Isla Mujeres, MX · March 24, 2017
Finest Playa Mujeres is an all-inclusive luxury family friendly resort in greater Cancun. The resort is gated, private, and 35 minutes north of Cancun International Airport. Below you can find information on booking your trip and other travel advice.
Reserving Your Room
We were able to set up a promo code with the resort that will enable you to receive discounted rates on select rooms between the dates of 3/21 and 3/28. If you would like to make your reservations through the resort, please use the Promo Code: FPMHRMAR17 when booking your stay at www.finestresorts.com.
Below is a list of the room rates we were able to negotiate for our group. These rates are per night for the occupancy shown and include all taxes and gratuities. They are only valid with a minimum stay of 3 nights. Please be aware that there is no room block; room reservations are subject to availability at time of booking.
If you are booking outside of the US, these rates may not apply for you.
You will notice that there are multiple levels of room categories. The "Finest Club Suites" have additional amenities for people traveling with children. The "Excellence Club Suites" have additional adults-only amenities.
FYI - You do not need to book your stay through the resort to attend our wedding. Please use whatever method of booking makes sense for you. If you would prefer to book through a travel site or agent, the promotional code will not apply.
Booking Your Flights
If you’re traveling from Philadelphia…
The price for nonstop flights on major airlines from PHL to CUN during that week recently increased. For more reasonable flight prices from Philadelphia, Frontier has some options on select days. You can also look into flights with a layover or fly out of either Baltimore (BWI) or New York (JFK).
We recommend arriving at the resort by the 23rd. If you plan to arrive on the 24th, we recommend arriving no later than 2pm. The ceremony will be held at 5pm and you will need time to get to the resort, check-in, and get ready.
Info About Zika
The Zika Virus is a mosquito-borne viral infection which is transmitted by the same type of mosquito linked to dengue and chikungunya. If you are not a woman of childbearing age, pregnant, or trying to get pregnant, the Zika virus is unlikely to cause you any serious trouble. We will keep our website updated with any new information we find, but please take the time to research it more thoroughly if you are concerned.
From January 1, 2016 to November 14, 2016 there has been a total of 6,474 confirmed cases of Zika in all of Mexico. 321 of those cases were in Quintana Roo, (the state where the resort is located). With over 1.32 million people residing in Quintana Roo, that is less than 0.03% of the population.
When we told the Excellence Group about our concerns with the Zika virus, and asked what precautions they are taking at their resorts, this was the answer we received:
"Regarding your concern about the Zika Virus, there have been different degrees of information around the topic in the last few months, and we have been able to address the most frequent questions and concerns from our mutual guests. We remain attentive to any instruction and recommendation from international and local health authorities to take the necessary actions as needed and ensure the full safety of employees and guests at all times.
We have seen an increasingly favorable situation in the last few months regarding no special warnings or restrictions affecting any of our destinations, and the fact that the World Health Organization has discouraged any recommendation to avoid or reduce travel because of this issue or any non-confirmed relation with other medical conditions as it was feared in the beginning. The fact that there are no special risks for Cancun, Riviera Maya, or Punta Cana and the multiple proactive measures taken, have allowed us to maintain a fortunate record of no reported cases from guests or employees at any of our properties.
The best practices and recommendations remain under application to reinforce preemptive efforts, including strict regular fogging within premises and surroundings, smart use of repellents and clothing, among other actions to reduce any potential risk. Our properties also remain happily operating under completely normal conditions and our guests enjoying their vacations without any unusual situation."
